Since September we’ve been working with eco-friendly and reusable materials for all our packaging, making cardboard boxes an efficient and sustainable solution, for us and for you. We’ve also completely eliminated plastic from our online packaging and our retail stores, replacing it for recycled cardboard bags and inviting our customers to shop with their own bags.
All our labels and hangtags are made out of recycled materials, which may be more expensive for us, but it’s cheaper for the planet. Furthermore, we have reduced the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere by 10 grams by sending sale tickets by email instead of printing them in paper.
At the moment, we are activating a plan to collect clothes which we plan to recycle and reuse, rewarding those customers who bring in old clothes to donate with a 10% discount on their next order with us.
For our SS20 Collection, 20% of the production will be made out of organic cotton, grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment, maintaining soil fertility, reducing the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and building biologically diverse agriculture. To sum up, all swimwear for this collection will be produced using recycled polyester.
In the present we have been awarded with the OEKO-TEX certificate, a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. Our plan is to evolve and be rewarded with much more eco-friendly certificates on different matters, including carbon footprint, cotton trademark, fair trade and more.
Edmmond will be rewarded with the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) certification. GOTS is constituted of four reputable organizations with expertise in organic (fibre) farming as well as environmentally and socially responsible textile processing and manufacturing.
Even though we realize this is a tough and long journey in which we will surely meet many obstacles, we are motivated and full of hope to see it through and become what we admire the most, a 100% sustainable company.
