Sustainability at Edmmond Studios

The ability to change the things we can’t accept. That’s exactly what sustainability means to us. Having realized our past makes, our Sustainability at Edmmond Studios framework sets our goals and priorities for the next years. We are planning to do things better and now you can follow the journey with us, let us introduce to you our program to reduce our carbon footprint in the next few years.

Since September we’ve been working with eco-friendly and reusable materials for all our packaging, making cardboard boxes an efficient and sustainable solution, for us and for you. We’ve also completely eliminated plastic from our online packaging and our retail stores, replacing it for recycled cardboard bags and inviting our customers to shop with their own bags.

All our labels and hangtags are made out of recycled materials, which may be more expensive for us, but it’s cheaper for the planet. Furthermore, we have reduced the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere by 10 grams by sending sale tickets by email instead of printing them in paper.

At the moment, we are activating a plan to collect clothes which we plan to recycle and reuse, rewarding those customers who bring in old clothes to donate with a 10% discount on their next order with us.

For our SS20 Collection, 20% of the production will be made out of organic cotton, grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment, maintaining soil fertility, reducing the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and building biologically diverse agriculture. To sum up, all swimwear for this collection will be produced using recycled polyester.

In the present we have been awarded with the OEKO-TEX certificate, a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. Our plan is to evolve and be rewarded with much more eco-friendly certificates on different matters, including carbon footprint, cotton trademark, fair trade and more.

Edmmond will be rewarded with the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) certification. GOTS is constituted of four reputable organizations with expertise in organic (fibre) farming as well as environmentally and socially responsible textile processing and manufacturing.

Even though we realize this is a tough and long journey in which we will surely meet many obstacles, we are motivated and full of hope to see it through and become what we admire the most, a 100% sustainable company.

'Until the palette speaks' - Wes Robinson, illustrator and friend
Art, music and colour mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, that’s the beauty of it. While talking to Wes, it quickly became clear that he isn’t a casual illustrator. As an artist, everything that has to do with creativity and imagination is Wes’ bread and butter, and the inspiration that drives his work as an artist comes from anything that speaks to him through colour or music. Learn more about Wes in the following interview.
Movember, joining true fighters
Edmmond Studios is a brand that was born to inspire men to broadcast their personality through fashion. Those same men we are addressing to are also facing health issues that only one association is talking about: Movember. This is our way of joining the movement and supporting the initiative and all the men that are true fighters of whom we have a lot to learn from.
